Alvaro Duran

Alvaro Duran began his journey into plastic art as a child in Esmeraldas, Ecuador with a simple matchbox car from the local toy store, “El Bazar del Niño”. This began his lasting passion for automobiles and storytelling, and as a filmmaker and motorsports enthusiast, Mr. Duran’s artistic venture Banged Knuckles Art allows him to channel his love for speed, comic books and minimalism.
In minimalism, Mr. Duran captures the essentials designs of iconic vehicles, pushing viewers to actively engage, interpret and project their own memories onto each piece. This creates a dynamic between art and observer to foster personal, unique, and resonating experiences for each individual.
Mr. Duran’s art invites the public to explore and create a narrative, personal and universal, through the intersection of speed, memory and imagination.
